The majority of the photos in these galleries were taken by me using one of the cameras below. Any shots with me in them were taken by someone else after I handed over the camera (or they used their camera) — usually a helpful guide or fellow traveler.
📸 Camera Gear I Use
I shoot with a mix of gear depending on the situation — here’s what I’m currently using:
SLR Camera:
- Nikon D7500 – My go-to DSLR, especially for wildlife and action shots
- Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens – Excellent quality landscape lens
- Nikon 50mm f/1.4G lens – This quality fixed focus lens is perfect for street photography
Mirrorless Camera:
- Nikon Z6 II – A mirrorless powerhouse
- Nikon Z 24-70mm f/4 lens – great all-purpose travel lens
- Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens – my “go to” travel lens for wildlife photography
Cell Phone Camera:
- Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (as of July ’25) – Because sometimes a cell phone is all I’ve got
- Samsung Galaxy S22+ (prior cell phone) – The photo quality from Galaxy phones is pretty amazing
Accessories:
- Aoka Travel Tripod – Lightweight, and fits in a carry-on or backpack
- Hoodman Loupe Viewfinder – Being able to see my photos in-camera on the spot, even in bright daylight = priceless!
